StockwireX: BLS Pharmaceuticals Ltd Pursues Depression Therapy Partnership in Australia
BLS Pharmaceuticals has signed a non-binding Heads of Agreement with Trexapharm for the Australian commercialisation of TREXAVIVE®, a patented non-sedating therapy targeting treatment-resistant depression — here’s what the BLS Pharmaceuticals Trexavive commercialisation deal means for investors.
BLS strikes agreement to bring novel depression therapy to Australian patients
BLS Pharmaceuticals (ASX: BLS) has entered into a non-binding Heads of Agreement with Trexapharm Pty Ltd for the proposed Australian commercialisation of TREXAVIVE®, a proprietary, patented neurotherapy for treatment-resistant depression.
The agreement is non-binding. It establishes the framework for the two parties to negotiate definitive commercial agreements rather than confirming a signed binding deal.
For investors, the significance lies in strategic direction. The collaboration would expand BLS’s mental health platform beyond medicinal cannabis and psychedelic medicines into a differentiated, non-sedating central nervous system (CNS) therapeutic.
Under the proposed structure, BLS would be appointed Trexapharm’s preferred Australian commercial partner.
Key details from the announcement include:
- Partner: Trexapharm Pty Ltd, a privately held, Australian CNS-focused drug development company
- Product: TREXAVIVE®, which combines low doses of flumazenil and naltrexone
- Structure: Non-binding Heads of Agreement
- Target indications: Treatment-resistant depression, Major Depressive Disorder, and trauma-related disorders including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
